Europe landscapes
Location
Europe is bordered on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the east by Asia, on the south by the Mediterranean an Asia , and on the west by the Atlantic Ocean.

Plains and mountains
The plains extend through the central and eastern parts of Europe.
At the centre, lies the Great European Plain bordered to the north by the Baltic and North Seas and to the south by the Alps and the Carpathian Mountains.

The highest mountain system in Europe is in the south. Most of the system borders with the Mediterranean Sea: Pyrenees, Alps, Carpathians, Balkans and the Caucasus mountains. The highest is the Elbrus in the Caucasus.

Lower mountains under 2500 m: Scandinavian Mountains and Ural Mountains that form the border between Europe and Asia.

  • The Mediterranean watershed. They have a low, irregular volume of low. Ex:The Ebro, The Rhode
  • The black Sea Watershed. They are very long and they have great volume Ex: Danube.
The Caspian Sea Watershed: they are long rivers with a large volume of flow. The longest river in Europe is the Volga.

EUROPEAN LAKES

They are grouped by location:
Northern Lakes: large and deep. There are many in Sweden, Finland, Russia.
Southern Lakes: small and not very deep. Albufera In Spain.
Alpine Lakes: are found in the mountains as the Alps.
